Reading The Secret Lives of Fortunate Wives is a lot like reading People Magazine.
It might not have a ton of literary value, but it's fun and gossipy, and the characters in it are vaguely horrifying.
It is the story of a very wealthy neighborhood and all the scandal that is lurking underneath the surface. (Hint, it's a lot)
All in all, a good time.
